According to Ruckus Wireless, Portugal Telecom has decided to use Ruckus MediaFlex Smart Wi-Fi system as the Wi-Fi standard to distribute IPTV to more than three million homes in the country.

The patented Smart Wi-Fi system allows smooth transmission of streaming digital IP-based voice/video services over standard 802.11 frequencies.
