Ukrtelecom plans to commence 3G services next month.(CARRIERS)

Ukraine-based state-run telecom firm Ukrtelecom said that it plans to unveil 3G mobile services in many cities next month. Although Ukrtelecom had paid $30 million for Ukraine's combined GSM/UMTS license in December 2005, it had to wait till October 2006 to sign a three-year deal with Finland-based handset maker Nokia for supplying radio network and W-CDMA core equipment.
