SEOUL, Jan 10 Asia Pulse - A controversy is continuing between North Korea and the United States over whether the communist country declared all of its nuclear weapons programs by the end of last year. Under an agreement at the six-party talks, the North was to disable its major nuclear facilities and declare all of its nuclear programs by Dec. 31 in return for energy assistance and diplomatic benefits.
The North's Foreign Ministry said on Jan. 4 that Pyongyang had drawn up the declaration in November and notified the U.S. of it, adding it had additional consultations with Washington. But U.S. officials said the North has not made a complete and correct ...
