Article: EVN TO BUY POWER FROM PETROVIETNAM'S CA MAU PLANT.

HANOI, Jan 10 Asia Pulse - Electricity of Viet Nam (EVN) will buy electricity from Ca Mau Power Plant, under a deal inked yesterday between EVN and Ca Mau Power's main investor PetroVietnam.

Under the deal, Ca Mau power plant will provide 1,500MW of power to EVN each year, becoming EVN's biggest purchase of power from independent plants - although the price of the purchase was not released.

General Director of EVN Pham Le Thanh said yesterday's deal would help the group meet power rising demand during 2008.
