Des Moines, Iowa -- Illinois Sen. Barack Obama's call for change was answered by a decisive victory in Iowa's first- in-the-nation precinct caucuses Thursday, trumping the populism of former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards and the experience promised by New York Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Obama's triumph broke open a race that had been essentially knotted in a three-way tie for weeks and propels him into New Hampshire, where the first primary will be held Tuesday.
It also has the potential to upend a contest that has long been dominated by Clinton in national polls, and paves the way for a historic showdown ...
