NEW YORK - A 10-year research effort by the L'Oreal hair care division of Cosmair Inc. has yielded what a spokeswoman for the company describes as an unprecedented discovery. A line of shampoos and conditioners slated for introduction in September contains a newly developed ingredient that she believes replaces essential natural ingredients of hair that are called ceramides.
Having found that daily washing, combing and drying diminish the ceramides in people's hair, L'Oreal formulated Ceramide-R and created the Fortavive Performance shampoo and conditioner line.
