REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 4, 1995--"Killer Instinct," the year's most popular arcade video game, has quickly become the fastest-selling Nintendo home game of all time.
According to Nintendo of America, more than 150,000 games were sold on Aug. 30, the first day of availability.
Nintendo's previous fastest-selling game was "Donkey Kong Country," released last November. By way of comparison, one of Nintendo's largest national retailers reports that "Killer Instinct" sold more units on its first day of availability than "Donkey Kong Country" did in its first week.
