Turkish warplanes bomb areas in northern Iraq for the second day in a row but caused no casualties. Jabbar Yawar, spokesman for the Iraqi Kurdish security forces, said the airstrikes in a deserted mountainous area in northern Iraq started at 3 p.m. and lasted for more than three hours. He said the only damage was to farmland. There was no immediate comment from the Turkish military, which said Dec 22 that it planned to continue its operations against guerillas from the separatist Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, inside Turkey and across the border in northern Iraq.
