Leighton Buzzard 34, St Albans 15
BUZZARDS had a break from the league on Saturday with a friendly fixture against a visiting St Albans side from the London leagues.
It gave Buzzards an opportunity to try out some new faces and combinations - and in testing conditions on a saturated pitch the home side won well, 34-15.
The match started at a fast pace with both sides attempting to play a fast and expansive game.
However the soggy conditions did stall the progress of a number of attacks.
Buzzards broke the deadlock with a well worked try seeing Irwin dive in at the corner.
