The owner of a Tibetan mastiff is to be taken to court after the dog allegedly attacked two men.
The dog, which lives on Broad Oak Lane, Penwortham, bit a postman and a member of the public after apparently escaping through a broken fence panel in the garden.
Police and dog wardens from South Ribble Council were called to restrain the dog and give advice to the owner.
Now they will be summoned to appear in court under the Dangerous Dogs Act. PC Colin Filby, of Bamber Bridge police station, said: "We are currently investigating this incident, and have received two reports that the dog had bitten a postman and another male on January 9.
