How long does it take to prepare and bake a blueberry pie? About 95 minutes if it's done during a touching performance of "Memory House," now playing at Lord Leebrick Theatre.
The play by Kathleen Tolan takes place in "real time," starting at 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve in a New York apartment. Maggie, the mother, and Katia, the adopted daughter, both have a finite task before them.
Maggie is about to make a pie, one of the first she's ever made, and Katia is balking at finishing a college application essay due at the post office by midnight. Maggie bets the pie will be finished before the essay.
