HEXCEL'S controversial outline plans to build a carbon fibre precursor plant and store acrylonitrile in Duxford were approved by South Cambridgeshire Council last week and will go ahead subject to consideration by the Secretary of State.
Despite a number of councillors complaining they felt that they didn't have enough information from the Health and Safety Executive, the council made the decision to approve the plans at the former Ciba-Geigy plant.
Duxford Parish Council spoke out in favour of the plans, but said it hoped traffic management during construction would be reviewed before building work started.
