THE loss of the best friend he called his "little big brother" has left Jason Roe devastated.
Jason and murder victim Alex Holdroyd had become best mates several years ago and he led tributes to his friend, who he had last seen in the moments before Alex, 19, was taken to theatre for an operation to try and save his life.
Grieving friends of Alex gathered last Friday afternoon to lay flowers and pay tribute to him at the bench at the town centre end of Water Street.
Over the next few days the bench became a shrine to Alex's memory with young people going there to pay their respects.
