A Rye man has won his fight to stop a fish processing plant overshadowing his Grade II listed cottage.
John Houselander feared plans to expand the Rye Partnership owned plant, at Rock Channel, would swamp his home Ferry Cottage.
Rye Partnership was seeking planning permission for a change of use to include light industrial
workshops.
But the plans also included building a new hard standing car park right next to Ferry Cottage.
Mr Houselander told planners: "It will effectively become an additional public parking area used by both cars and lorries that already frequent the existing adjacent areas.
