The following correction was published Jan. 19, 2008:
WORCESTER - A handgun purchased in mid-October by an undercover city police officer was the personal property of a Worcester County Sheriff's Department employee and was not issued to him by the department. A story and headline in yesterday's Telegram & Gazette about the arrest of the alleged gun seller incorrectly stated that the weapon was the property of the Sheriff's Department.
