While information is still being gathered on the link between insomnia and mental health problems, some interesting findings have been uncovered. In a survey of 25,000 Norwegian adults, those suffering from chronic insomnia were also more likely to be suffering from a mental health problem, such as depression or anxiety, than those who did not report suffering from insomnia. Additionally, participants who suffered from insomnia during the first part of the survey were more likely to report an anxiety disorder during the second part of the survey.
