CHINESE GOV SUBSIDIZES USE OF ENERGY-EFFICIENT LIGHTING PRODUCTS
BEIJING - The Chinese government launched a nationwide program Monday to subsidize the use of 150 million energy-efficient lighting products, in a bid to reduce electricity consumption by 29 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) by 2010.
The green drive was jointly launched by the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
