Lomond Castings Ltd., Ayrshire, Scotland, will open its new Romanian manufacturing facility in April 2007, according to a company press release.
The plant, based in Brasov, Transylvania, will produce aluminum castings and complement the company's existing manufacturing base in Scotland.
"We are opening our new facility in Brasov because of a number of reasons," said Calum McPherson, Lomond's managing director. "It is only two hours away from Bucharest in a [metalcasting] city with an experienced pool of labor.
