COBB-VANTRESS Inc., a globally leading provider of chicken genetics, and Hendrix Genetics B.V., a major supplier of genetics in the livestock and poultry sectors, announced last week that they are exploring joint venture opportunities.
Cobb and Hendrix said they have signed a memorandum of understanding in which Cobb will acquire Hendrix's Hybro chicken breeding business and in which the two companies will launch an agreement to jointly develop poultry and swine genetics. This part of the memorandum should become effective in the first half of this year, according to the announcement.
