MARTIN Aram did enough to secure a silver medal in the high jump at the Northern Counties' Indoor Championships in Sheffield at the weekend, but was bitterly disappointed not to clear more than his opening height of two metres.
A couple of hours later he was in action again in the triple jump alongside fellow Manxman Phil Riley, who was having his first competitive outing since the NatWest Island Games in Rhodes last July.
Both athletes improved steadily throughout the competition to finish fifth and sixth, Aram getting the better jump of 13.27m to Riley's 12.95m.
