A RECENT ARTICLE in Boulder, Colorado's Daily Camera newspaper described how Bobby Stuckey, the co-owner of the renowned Frasca's restaurant, prefers hiring elite long-distance runners for his wait staff. "It has worked out well," he said, "because Fresco is an intense work environment, and they rise to the intensity very well." Manufacturing and selling music products might require a different kind of intensity, but most in the game would acknowledge certain parallels between finishing the race in an endurance sport and succeeding in the modern music products industry. As it turns out, some "serious players" in m.i. are also serious players on the road.
