Thursday opened with home prices posting a first decline in 40 years. The National Association of Realtors reported that sales of single-family homes dropped by 2.2 percent in December. These new figures underscored the severity of the slump in housing. Meanwhile, AT&T reported a $3.1 billion during their fourth quarter bringing about a 51 cent per share.
