YOUNG people from Boston and the surrounding area have been getting a taste of the world of work thanks to a new initiative from Connexions.
In partnership with the JobCentre, Connexions has been running a pilot scheme in conjunction with local businesses over the last six months to offer young people a series of work placements and trials.
Gillian Marshall, a Connexions employment and training advisor, said the scheme has proved so successful it has been awarded further Government funding to set up similar ventures in other areas of the county.
The trials and placements are aimed at young people aged 16-19, or 18-25 for those with a disability. ...
