Article: House puts finishing touches on defense appropriations bill.(FY '96 defense appropriations bill)

The House last night planned to vote on final passage of its $243.9 billion FY '96 defense spending plan that largely mirrors its counterpart authorization bill, which skims some dollars off the top of a few weapons programs to meet established budget caps.

Final passage was slated to occur after out press time.

The Senate, earlier this week, passed its $242.7 billion FY '96 defense appropriations bill.
