TRIBUTES continue to be paid after the sudden death of Sir John Willis.
Sir John, 70, of Belvedere Terrace, Alnwick, played a big role in the community and was also very involved in the campaign to save RAF Boulmer which was won in the week of his death.
Air Chief Marshal Sir Glenn Torpy, Chief of the Air Staff, paid tribute to Sir John's outstanding military career.
He said: "Sir John had a long and very distinguished career in the RAF and he will be remembered with considerable respect and affection by everyone in the service."
