Association of amusement parks demand cut in entertainment tax
Mumbai, Jan 25 (PTI) Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries today asked the state government to bring down the entertainment tax, that stands at a whooping 50 per cent.
"Our customers have to pay an entry fee of Rs 200 to enter an amusement park. If 50 per cent more tax is imposed on them, it begins to pinch them," President of the association VGP Ravidas told reporters here.
Entertainment tax for amusement parks is a state subject and charged differently by governments. Punjab charges 50 per cent, Maharashtra 15 per cent, Gujarat 25 per cent and West Bengal 20 per ...
