The matter of the translation of the word euro' into Bulgarian is resurfacing. In the wake of the call by the General Affairs Council, on 15 October, for adoption in Luxembourg of the EU-Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Agreement, the Bulgarians are threatening to boycott the agreement for transcription reasons. The controversy concerns the transcription of the word euro', which appears several times in the Council text since the euro is the currency used in Montenegro.
