The European Parliament wants to be the first to react on the Lisbon Treaty, which was adopted by the EU27 on 19 October this year and will be signed on 13 December in the Portuguese capital. A provisional version of the draft resolution is already available.
It was presented by the co-rapporteurs, nigo Mendez de Vigo (EPP-ED, Spain) and Richard Corbett (PES, UK), on 22 November in Brussels before the Parliament's Committee on Constitutional Affairs. The committee will give its response in January, while the plenary could vote during February 2008. The two MEPs, who were already co-rapporteurs on the draft Constitutional Treaty in 2004, therefore plan to "send a ...
