Competition for Projects Intensifies
The challenge is how to minimize the effect of the first three and thus enjoy the rewards of growth.
For companies that have not already found a partner, that too is getting tricky. Rather than China courting foreign venture partners, as was the case just a few years ago, it is now the partners competing for the projects. "There can be two or three foreign producers competing for each major chemicals project," says Charles O. Holliday, president of DuPont Asia/Pacific.
