CEEP, the European Centre of Enterprises with Public Participation, appears increasingly worried by the progress towards full liberalisation of postal services. In a statement issued on 26 February, CEEP called on the European Parliament and the Council to guarantee "sustainable funding" when hammering out a new postal services directive based on the European Commission's October 2006 proposal.
