PANCAKE races will be held at Fernhurst School on Shrove Tuesday, February 5, instead of at the village green as they have been for more than quarter of a century.
Holding them at the school will also enable all the pupils to take part in the races year by year, when the distances will be made slightly longer as the age goes up.
All the groups will have to toss their pancakes, which will be a mixture of homemade and rubber ones supplied by Jif lemons.
The organisers have a vast supply of assorted frying pans to ensure all those who want to take part have the right equipment.
