MIDLOTHIAN'S newest centenarian, Christina Stewart, was born in the same year the women's suffragette movement began, Vimto was invented and Hollywood legends James Stewart and Bette Davis were born.
Last week she celebrated with family, friends and fellow residents at Drummond Grange Care Home, Lasswade and was presented with a huge cake ? or rather three ? in the shape of the number '100'.
Deputy Lieutenant John McCulloch, who presented her with flowers on behalf of the Lord Lieutenant Patrick Prenter, said: "It was a real pleasure to see her and her sister and other members of her family. I also had the honour of presenting Miss Stewart with a telegram ...
