SEOUL, Jan 31 Asia Pulse - North Korean leader Kim Jong-il met a senior official of the Chinese Communist Party in Pyongyang, the North's official news agency reported on Jan. 30.
Kim had lunch with Wang Jiarui, director of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, "in a warm and friendly atmosphere," the North's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.
Kim asked Wang to convey his greetings to Chinese President Hu Jintao, the news agency said. No further details on the conversation were provided.
