Supervisors and other managerial employees are sometimes involved in investigating employee workplace complaints, such as allegations of discrimination or reports of unlawful activity. Their involvement may sometimes result in retaliation-based charges filed by the supervisors themselves against the company under several possible causes of action. Companies and their managerial employees need to be aware of the legalities associated with adverse actions taken against supervisory employees who have been involved in investigating alleged wrongful behavior.
