With an Oct. 30 deadline looming, the Metropolitan King County Council is set to vote today in Seattle on its share of a $319.9 million bond financing plan for a new stadium for the Mariners baseball team.
The state-endorsed package calls for the county to raise taxes on restaurant and bar tabs 0.5%, car rentals by 2%, and to tax admissions to the new stadium.
Some King County officials have criticized the package, which was passed on Oct. 14 in a three-day special session of the Washington Legislature.
Still, there are indications that the county's share of the plan will get at least seven votes from the 13-member council.
