On your mark, get set and go! The 28th annual Tug Hill Tourathon kicks off Saturday, just in time to take advantage of the lake-effect snow.
Set in the open terrain of the Winona State Forest, the all-day skiing competition will have a new look this year, as organizers hope to attract skiers from all skill levels.
"I'm trying to move the event into a new direction," said Matthew Westerlund, a winter sports enthusiast who took over the role of assistant race director for this year's competition. "I want everybody to feel welcome."
