TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthPlan Services Corporation (NYSE: HPS) announced today that it has been selected by Darden Restaurants, Inc. (NYSE: DRI) to administer its health care benefit plans. Darden Restaurants, the nation's largest company in the casual dining restaurant industry, with over $3 billion in sales, owns the Red Lobster and Olive Garden restaurant chains. HealthPlan Services will administer medical and dental benefits for approximately 30,000 Darden Restaurants employees and dependents beginning January 1, 1996.
