Now the unusual 'tonic' has been replaced with a daily dose of garlic, but plucky Doris stands by the special blend as the secret to her success.
Born in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, Doris worked in a sweet factory before moving to work as a maid near Great Yarmouth.
She had two children with her husband William.
