NEW YORK - Duck Head Apparel Co. Inc. has licensed Kentucky Derby Hosiery of Hopkinsville, Ky., to produce men's, women's and children's athletic and casual hosiery under the Duck Head label. The first season will be spring '96.
The licensing agreement with Duck Head's previous men's, women's and children's hosiery licensee, Mayo Knitting Mills, expired July 1, according to Nick DeMarco, director of licensing for Duck Head. Mayo held the Duck Head hosiery license for a little over a year, he said. Duck Head changed licensees "only because of the marketing capabilities of Kentucky Derby," DeMarco explained.
