Article: Nissan swamped by job hunters.

A STAGGERING 1,000 job hunters swamped Nissan in the first two days after it announced a major recruitment drive.

The car giant has already received more applications than new posts available at its flourishing Wearside plant.

Personnel director Danny Griffiths said: "It's encouraging to see such a positive response. Our target is 8,000 applications, so this has been a fantastic start."
