IN THE UK we throw away 6.7m tonnes of food every year. Research from the Waste and Resources Action Programme (Wrap) and the Love Food, Hate Waste Campaign shows fruit and vegetables make up 40% of food which is thrown away.

Meat and fish, bread and other bakery products, dairy produce, rice and pasta are all in the top five most-wasted foods.
