SPRINGFIELD - Thurston wrestling coach Mike Simons sat his team down on Friday before the beginning of the Midwestern League championship meet hosted by Springfield High School.
He pointed to championship banners hanging along the walls, and he explained exactly what is expected: another one.
The Colts delivered on Saturday, winning their third consecutive Midwestern League championship by a resounding margin.
"This is three in a row for us, and I think that motivated a lot of the kids," said Simons, whose team finished with 373.5 points, 105 more than second-place Churchill.
