Legg Mason Investments is preparing to launch a new world equity income fund.
Legg Mason Global Equity Income will be run by Brandywine Global Investment Management, a wholly-owned affiliate of Legg Mason, which operates from Philadelphia.
Although Legg Mason declined to name the domicile, Brandywine already operates the firm's AGBP42m Global Equity fund, which is housed under its Dublin Sicav.
The new fund is expected to be an income-paying version of Brandywine's existing product.
The Global Equity fund, which launched in September 2006, aims to beat the MSCI World Net Dividends index on a rolling yearly basis.
