SAPS rejects reservists' demands for pay, benefits.(News)

Hundreds of police reservists took to the city's streets yesterday to demand full integration into and benefits from the SAPS.

The demands have, however, been dismissed by the SAPS, which said reservists were volunteers and did not get paid unless they were called up for special duties.

Nearly 300 reservists marched to the Union Buildings under the banners of the SA Communist Party (SACP) and the Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union.
