Outside the bayfront window of the Chesapeake Fish Co., tourists ambling along the waterfront stop and stare in fascination as the men behind the glass methodically fillet fish.
Collectively, the four workers have more than a century of experience: Armando Mayea, 46 years, Eber Linder, 20 years, John martin, 20-plus years, Hector Cota, 14 years. The experience shows in the careful, efficient way they slice the catch heaped on a table in the chilly room.
Nick Vitalich Jr., president and third-generation proprietor of Chesapeake, says his 80 or so employees are a key reason behind the company's success.
