THE passion shown over Batley's town hall campaign could spark the creation of an exhibition and a new historical society.
Campaigners who led the bid to keep council services within the town hall were at the cabinet meeting to hear councillors give the final nod to a [pounds sterling]1m investment in the building.
It forms part of plans to spend [pounds sterling]3m on improvements to Batley, Dewsbury, and Cleckheaton town halls and give them centre stage in their areas.
Malcolm Haigh, who spearheaded the campaign, told the councillors he and the others were at the meeting to urge them to put their words into action.
