FIFTY years on, former professional footballer Ray King, from Amble, remembers Duncan Edwards, one of the victims of the Munich air crash.
THE time was February 1958, I was out on the training pitch with my players at Boston Utd FC, where I held the position of player-manager.
It was a bitterly cold day, but when someone shouted from the dressing room area that the plane carrying the Manchester United football team had crashed on take-off from Munich Airport, killing many of the passengers on board, my blood froze, not only because of such horrendous news but I knew most of those young lads and newspaper reporters.
