India allows further exports of wheat flour to Maldives
New Delhi, Feb 7 (PTI) India has allowed exports of another 22,100 tons of wheat flour to Maldives during 2008-09 in an exception to the ban on overseas sales of wheat and wheat flour.
The Commerce Ministry had allowed exports of 17,000 tons of wheat flour in January to Maldives through public-sector trading firms STC and MMTC.
"The prohibition imposed on export of wheat flour shall not be applicable to export of 22,100 tons of wheat flour during 2008-09 to Maldives through STC and MMTC," the Director General of Foreign Trade said in a notification.
