NEW YORK - As part of the $80 million restructuring at VF Corp., Vanity Fair Mills, its intimate apparel subsidiary, said Friday it will close two sewing facilities in Alabama: one in Robertsdale, on Dec. 21, and the other in Butler, on Feb. 23, 1996.
J. Thomson Wyatt, president of Vanity Fair, cited competitive cost pressures and changes in product mix as reasons for the closings.
Wyatt said the number of domestic plants at Vanity Fair will total five, following the two closures. He noted that eight sewing facilities in Mexico are operating, and a ninth is due to open in 1996. Another sewing facility is planned to open in late 1996 or early 1997 in Honduras, ...
