THE third meeting of the Mearns Academy Community Group was held in the school on Tuesday, with Director of Education Bruce Robertson and Head of Service for Kincardine and Mearns and Marr, Thelma Birnie, in attendance.

The community group is filling the role of the former School Board and is made up of parents, staff, community representatives and pupils from the pupil representative council.

Rector Ian Parkin said it was a very positive meeting and that the community group is one hundred per cent behind the drive for a new-build Mearns Academy.
